Nina Chaitin, LMHC, Clinical Director

The Clinical Director of the Sunrise Detox Center located in Lake Worth Florida, Nina Chaitin LMHC, is a Psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University in Psychology, and her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova University. Her areas of expertise include interpersonal communication, anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, ADHD, coping skills, addiction/recovery, stress management, relationship issues, emotion regulation and phase of life problems.

Nina genuinely wants to see the clients that enter her facility overcome their addictions and has an open door policy for both the clients and her staff. She often has clients in her office discussing their personal issues and inner turmoil, from family issues to fear of treatment, in any case, her goal is to make sure each client’s emotional needs are met. Nina takes a personal interest in all the clients that enter her facility, personally reviewing each case as well as providing supervision for the clinicians and admissions coordinators.

Matthew Quaglia, ICADC, CAP, Service Director

Matt Quaglia is the Service Director for Sunrise Detox Lake Worth. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Matt has worked in substance abuse treatment for over 13 years in various capacities including detox tech and counselor.

As the Service Director, he works in conjunction with the clinical and medical teams to ensure that each patient is safe and receiving the treatment that is appropriate for their situation. Matt understands that substance abuse treatment, especially detox, is not a “one size fits all” approach and every patient’s treatment should be individualized.

He works tirelessly to instill hope back into a patient’s life and show them recovery is possible.

Dr. Yodashkin, MD, Medical Director

Dr. Yodashkin is Medical Director for Sunrise Detox Lake Worth. He is Board Certified in internal and addiction medicine, a fellow in the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a Certified Medical Review Officer. Born in Lithuania, he came to the United States in 1974 to pursue a career in medicine, eventually specializing in addiction treatment.

During his internship and residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in New York, he began his concentration on addiction medicine and addiction treatment. Since 1978, Dr. Yodashkin has been treating struggling addicts, helping them have a successful journey to their recovery.

Katherine Whall, RN, Director of Nursing

Katherine Whall, Director of Nursing at Sunrise Detox Lake Worth, has worked in addiction for the past eight years. She oversees the medical team, ensuring each patient is receiving the individual care they need. Not only is she a licensed nurse in both Florida and Connecticut, she also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Vermont.

With her education, professional experience and personal knowledge of recovery, Katherine has a unique ability to connect with each patient she encounters. Every day she strives to touch someone’s life in an effort to enrich their experience and help them heal and recover.

Brenda Flores, BA, CAP, Counselor

Brenda Flores, BA, CAP, is a 22-year veteran working in substance use treatment, the past twelve she has spent as a Counselor with Sunrise Detox Palm Beach. She is well known for her light-hearted spirit and commitment to each patients continuum of care plan.

Brenda’s group sessions are highly sought out among any patient population. Although she thrives in group sessions, she is also quick to intervene in any crisis to find a positive resolution. Her 26 years of personal sobriety give her an incredible insight into the minds of those taking the first step in their recovery. Having been there herself, she knows what needs to be done to continue down a path to success.

Cydney Blechman, BA, Counselor

Counselor, Cydney Blechman, received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Plymouth State University. Originally from Hampton Bays, NY, Cyd relocated to Florida and has been with Sunrise Detox for the last five years.

Like so many others, she struggled with anxiety that led to addiction. Having found her recovery, she can be an example for others who struggle with the same issues. Cyd works directly with patients, hearing how they got here and discussing the ways they can overcome their impulses.

Kevin Biemuller, BS, Counselor

Kevin Biemuller has worked with Sunrise Detox for four years in various positions including CD tech, Admissions Counselor and now is a Counselor. After starting with Sunrise, he went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Psychology to give back as much as he can to people struggling in early recovery.

Since joining the clinical team, he can be much more involved in each patients case and developing an appropriate treatment plan for the individual. He has found this involvement much more rewarding and feels that he is genuinely making a difference in peoples lives.

Joseph Riccio, Admissions Counselor

Originally from Connecticut, Admissions Counselor, Joseph Riccio has lived in Florida and worked in substance use treatment with Sunrise Detox for nearly five years. He decided to work in treatment after seeing several friends and family members struggle with addiction. Joe is one of the first faces you will see when entering the facility. He strives to make everyone he encounters feel comfortable and welcome.

Christela Arcelin, Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant, Christela Arcelin, is one of the most genuinely kind and caring people you will ever meet. She chose to work in substance use treatment because she genuinely wants to do anything she can to help anyone who is struggling succeed. Christela goes out of her way to make each person feel they are in the right place to take their first step towards recovery.
